The Honourable David Bartlett
Fronde is pleased to announce the appointment of the Honourable David J. Bartlett (B.Sc. Grad.Dip.Bus. FAIM MACS) as its new chairman. David Bartlett, recently named by The Australian as one of Australia’s Top 50 most influential people in technology, has an extensive career in technology and innovation, government, and governance.
David Bartlett was the Premier of the Australian State of Tasmania from 2008 until 2011. During his parliamentary career he also held the positions of Minister for Innovation, Science & Technology and Minister for Education & Skills. His time as Premier was characterised by bold reforms designed to lift Tasmania educational outcomes and capitalise on Tasmania's natural advantages in water, food and renewable energy, and also technology initiatives including championing Tasmania as the first National Broadband Network location.
Prior to entering Parliament, David had an extensive career in the information technology and telecommunications sector including roles as Chief Information Officer and Industry development specialist.
Since leaving Parliament, David has been working with regional economies, industry sectors and communities across Australia to prepare strategies for maximising economic and social renewal underpinned by broadband and digital technologies. He also holds a number of governance roles in emerging technology companies. He brings a unique perspective to discussions around broadband, innovation, commercialisation and the future of government service delivery.
Samford (Sandy) Maier, JD, BA has extensive experience in corporate governance and finance.
Sandy has served in international commercial and investment banking with Citicorp/Citibank for 15 years in various management positions in the Caribbean, South America and Australasia, and has lived and worked in New Zealand since 1986.
For the past 20 years, Sandy has had his own international management consulting firm, specialising in strategic financial and human resource issues and has served as Chairman or Director of several New Zealand companies.
Ms Drayton is Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and also the former partner in charge of the Assurance and Advisory business of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Central & Eastern Europe. As a result of these roles, she has significant multi-cultural, multi-jurisdictional managerial, and cross-border transactional experience which will be a great asset to Fronde’s global presence.
Ms Drayton currently serves as a Councillor of the University of Canterbury, and is a Director of Ngai Tahu Holdings Corporation, Christchurch International Airport Limited, Beca Group Limited, Powerbyproxi, and Southern Cross Medical Society.
Catherine is delighted to take the opportunity to join the Board at Fronde. Catherine says Fronde has a focus and ambition to help customers transform their businesses which is compelling, and she's glad to be a part of it.
